Bio:
Kathleen Mullen was born in Edmonton and spent much of her life living and working in the US and Canada. She has contributed to the programming, planning, and execution of film and art festivals for 20+ years. She is currently a co-lecturer at Simon Fraser University for the student-led Skoden Indigenous Film Festival and is remote teaching a course in Film Festival Management at Lesley University in Boston. Since 2014, she has worked with Three Dollar Bill Cinema as the Festival Director of the Seattle Queer Film Festival. Kathleen loves to discover new work and filmmakers and has programmed for Toronto International Film Festival, Hot Docs, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Inside Out, and others. Kathleen continues to enjoy consulting with filmmakers and festivals including the Whistler Film Festival and Vancouver Latin American Film Festival with her company Letter K Media.
Her films include the mid-length documentary Breathtaking and short films Button OUT!, you wash my skin with sunshine, Sleep Lines, Still Life with Butterfly, and Turkish Tea.
Kathleen has a Master of Arts in Anthropology/ Sociology from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada and a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from York University in Toronto, Canada.
